Engkuwentro, nagluntad sa tunga sang ginapatihan NPA kag mga suldado sa Canawillian, Janiuay

Janiuay, Iloilo – Naka-engkuwentro sang 61st Infantry (Hunter) Battalion sang Philippine Army ang mga ginapatihan miembro sang New People’s Army sa Zone 6, Barangay Canawillian las 8 kahapon sang aga, Disyembre 9.

Sa press release sang 61st IB, nagpadulong sa lugar ang mga suldado matapos nakabaton sang report nga may presensya sang mga armado nga lalaki.

Sa pag-abot sa lugar, ginpahayag nga nagpalupok ang mga armado nga lalaki rason nga nagbalos tiro ang mga suldado.

Wala sang may ginreport nga napilasan sa tropa sang gobierno.

Suno kay Lieutenant Commander Sisenando Magbalot Jr., Commanding Officer, 61IB, narecover sa lugar ang 4 ka Improvised Explosive Device; duha ka cal 5.56 M16 rifle; NPA flag kag isa ka laptop kag mga dokumento.

Sa reports nga nakalab-ot sa 61stIB, plano sang CPP-NPA nga mang-harass sang government forces kag army detachments para sa ila ika-50 nga anibersaryo sa Disyembre 26.

Sa statement ni LTC Magbalot, “We are commending the vigilance of the local populace in reporting the presence of the CPP-NPA Terrorist which resulted to the successful deterrence of their terroristic activities. This is also in response to the directive from the AFP to conduct relentless operations against the terrorist groups and never allow them to celebrate their years of harassment of the populace.” (JoMaque)
